Mark ThompsonChair, Opportunity Global Board

Mark Thompson co-founded Riverbridge Partners, an investment manager for institutions and high net worth individuals, in July 1987. As Chairman and Chief Manager, he is responsible for coordinating the efforts of the Investment Team and overall portfolio compliance to Riverbridge Partners investment disciplines. He has 31 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to founding Riverbridge, Mark was employed with IDS Financial Corp (now Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc.) where he was responsible for investment research and an associate portfolio manager of IDS New Dimensions Fund.  

Mark is active in the Minneapolis City of Lakes Rotary Club and he and his family are active members of their local church. Additionally, Mark serves on the Board of Directors for Wiland Direct, Inc.; Board of Advisors for MDS Leadership Consulting, Inc.;  Board of Advisors for WCA Foundation, Inc.; and Board of Directors for Real Resources Inc. Mark is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Carlson School of Management with a BSB in Finance. He lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife Kimberly and their 4 children. Mark has served as Opportunity International US Board Chair 2013-2015.
