Hitting the groove

Music from Hiatus and photography by Giles Duley provided the backdrop for the first ever event held by the Young Ambassadors for Opportunity in October.

A group of students and young professionals based in London, YAO aims to inspire, educate and involve young people committed to transforming lives through microfinance.

Members include professionals from finance, law, marketing, design and public affairs.

The idea for the UK group, which was formed early in 2009, came from a similar organisation in the US.

“We want to spread the word and build support for Opportunity International amongst our peers through networking and events,” said Kevin Kilty of YAO, speaking at the evening, which was held at the Blackall Studios in Shoreditch.

Our sincere thanks to YAO and event sponsors:

Blackall Studios Shoreditch, Hiatus, Giles Duley Photographer, Diageo/Ntsiki Dinga, Spier, Direct Seafoods

Also to raffle sponsors: phatography, Hotel Chocolat, Studio Stamp Paperie, The Grameen Creative Lab, sawinesonline.co.uk, The Inside Man, Charity Paintball, Bingham
